Catherine Shearer is a physical therapist and therapy research educator at
the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in geriatrics,
and falls/balance. She treats patients with conditions such as
musculoskeletal pain and neurological movement disorders. Catherine’s
research interests include outcome measures and falls prevention.
Catherine appreciates patients for who they are, and what life experience
has shaped them. She enjoys meeting new people and helping them achieve
their goals. She likes working with people to improve their mobility to
help keep them safe in their home and community. She works with her
patients to help them set realistic expectations, to encourage them to do a
little bit more, and to incorporate exercise into their daily routine -
during and after physical therapy.
