About Our Location

Specialists at University of Vermont Health – Porter Medical Center perform surgeries that relieve pain, heal injuries and treat complex conditions. We perform more than 3,000 procedures each year, providing our community with local access to specialized care.

Whenever possible, we use minimally-invasive laparoscopic procedures and leading-edge technologies. You benefit from less time in the hospital, lower risk of complications and a faster recovery.

Our Services

We offer a number of services, including but not limited to:

  • General surgery: A number of surgeries including abdominal wall hernias, appendectomies, colon resections, excision of skin cancers, emergency general surgery and more.
  • Endoscopy & colonoscopy: Screening colonoscopy, diagnostic colonoscopy and diagnostic upper endoscopy.
  • Wound care: Evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic wounds using advanced wound techniques and dressings. Wound types we treat include: Trauma, burns, venous stasis & arterial related ulcers, pressure related injury and diabetes-related wounds.
  • Endocrine surgery: Complete work up and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid conditions.
  • Breast care: Our surgeons provide comprehensive surgical breast care management for benign and malignant breast conditions.
