Thank you for your interest in the UVM Medical Center Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program.
The Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and uses the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
Criteria for Selection
Selection for a fellowship position in vascular surgery is based on a number of factors, which include:
- Successful completion of a general surgery residency program accredited by the ACGME by July 31
- Eligible for Board Certification from the ABS at the start of fellowship – August 1
- USMLE transcripts
- ABSITE scores
- Three letters of recommendation from ABS Board Certified Surgeons
- Personal statement
- The photograph uploaded into ERAS
- Completed application submitted through ERAS no later than January 31
- A personal interview with Program Director and faculty members
International applicants must:
- Have a J-1 Visa or have a U.S. citizen Permanent Resident status. No other Visas will be accepted. (H1B or F1 are not acceptable.)
- Have graduated from medical school within the last seven years
- Have a current certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
- Have worked in clinical medicine in the United States within the last two years
- NOTE: an observership or externship does not fulfill this requirement and the UVM Medical Center Graduate Medical Education Program does not accept either position
