Our curriculum combines a variety of clinical experiences and protected learning time to help you develop expertise in assessing and managing the physical, psychological and spiritual suffering faced by patients with serious illness. You will also develop skills and experience with population health, research, quality improvement and medical education to help you grow as a Hospice and Palliative Care leader.

- Clinical Experience & Rotations: Diverse hands-on experiences at a major academic hospital, a hospice center, a longitudinal care facility, critical access hospitals, outpatient clinic, telemedicine, and patients’ homes.
- Academic Half-Day: Half-day interactive workshops that enhance the knowledge and skills critical to the clinical practices of hospice and palliative medicine. This also includes workshops dedicated to self-care and resilience, focusing on topics such as narrative medicine, processing groups and structured reflections.
- Advanced Skills Workshops & Leadership Development: Workshops that offer deeper dives into core palliative care skills such as communication skills and symptom management as well as workshops that help fellows develop skills as leaders in education, clinical operations, population health, quality improvement, and team management.
