Class Details

This comprehensive six-hour class is designed to prepare expectant parents for the childbirth experience. Led by knowledgeable instructors, the session provides an informative overview of labor, delivery and what to expect during your time at the hospital.

Topics covered include:

  • How to recognize the signs of labor
  • The stages of labor and what to expect during each phase
  • The role of body positioning during pregnancy and labor
  • What to expect upon arrival at the Porter Birthing Center
  • A guided tour of the Porter Birthing Center

While we touch on comfort measures during this session, those seeking a more in-depth exploration are encouraged to attend our separate Comfort Measures for Labor class.

This class is offered through the Porter Birthing Center and is available exclusively to patients of Porter Medical Center.
