John Dwyer is president and chief executive officer of EastRise Credit Union, headquartered in Williston, Vermont. He has been with the credit union since 1987, when he was hired as vice president of finance. In 2006, he was named president and chief operations officer and stepped into his current role in 2010.
Dwyer has a BS in business administration from the University of Vermont (1984) and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2000). He became a certified public accountant in 1987. He is a certified credit union chief executive and serves on national and regional committees for credit union trade groups.
Dwyer has also served on a number of local nonprofit boards including University of Vermont Children’s Hospital’s Community Advisory Council, University of Vermont Medical Center, and the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. From 2010 to 2013, he served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Community Financial Institution Advisory Council.
