About Me
I'm motivated by the opportunity to help people improve their quality of life, not only for themselves, but also for their families and loved ones. I find the collaborative problem-solving aspect of health care especially rewarding.
One experience that has stayed with me involved an 84-year-old patient who came to the hospital with sudden chest pain. Fortunately, she was ultimately ruled out for a serious cardiac condition. During our conversation, she shared that much of her life revolved around caring for others, driving friends and family to appointments, running errands and helping with daily needs. I encouraged her to remember that caring for others starts with caring for yourself. When we neglect our own health and well-being, we have less to give to the people who depend on us.
Several months later, I happened to see her again while she was accompanying her significant other to the hospital. She remembered our conversation and told me she had taken that advice to heart. She had started making time for self-care, meditation and exercise and found that she was experiencing more joy and less stress while continuing to help others.
Experiences like this remind me that health care extends beyond diagnoses and treatments. Sometimes the simplest advice can have a meaningful impact on a person's overall well-being. I practice with the belief that we are people first and patients second, and I strive to care for the whole person.
Outside of work, I enjoy being creative and spending time in nature. Whether I'm sewing, building, drawing or simply enjoying a cup of coffee outdoors while feeling the breeze and listening to the sounds of nature, I value activities that help me recharge and stay connected to what matters most.
I practice with the belief that we are people first and patients second, and I strive to care for the whole person.
