About Me
Genetic counselors play a unique role in patient care, communicating complex scientific concepts in ways that patients understand while also addressing and supporting their emotional and cognitive needs. I feel most fulfilled when patients thoroughly understand and recognize the value of genetic testing for their own health and that of their family members.
There have been significant efforts to educate the public about hereditary breast cancer risk, resulting in an expansion of genetic testing services offered to females.
Currently, I am most passionate about increasing public awareness of other hereditary cancer predispositions, especially those that would impact cancer risk for males.
I enjoy exercise and fresh air to clear my mind and reenergize my body.
