About Me

As a pediatric surgeon, I manage a variety of conditions, including hernias, appendicitis, gallbladder disease, gastrostomies, Hirschsprung's disease, congenital bowel obstructions and more. I also specialize in minimally invasive abdominal and thoracic surgery.

I completed my medical degree right here at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and chose a career in medicine to help others. I’m particularly fascinated by the science of pediatric surgery and the wide variety of problems that I can positively impact.

I consider myself a big kid at heart, which makes interactions with my patients easy. A fist bump from my patients at the end of the visit tells me that I have successfully connected with them.

I most enjoy developing trusting relationships with patients and families that can last beyond the acute illness. The greatest reward is seeing a child or parent who is nervous at first later leave the visit smiling and feeling confident. My goal with every patient is to get them back to being a kid as quickly as possible.

With over 20 years of experience caring for children, the most rewarding part of my practice has been building meaningful connections with patients and their families, and helping them feel comfortable throughout care, recovery and the return to normal life.

My goal for every patient is to get them back to being a kid as quickly as possible.
