About Me
I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine from witnessing my family experience challenges with their chronic illnesses. What I find most rewarding in my role is being able to help patients understand their health better — including their conditions, medications and nonpharmacological options.
I am passionate about Type 2 Diabetes, as this is a prevalent and complex disease state. I also enjoy managing other chronic conditions such as hypertension, obesity and asthma or COPD. Even if someone simply wants to review their medication list with me, I am happy to meet with them to discuss if there are any changes we can make to reduce overall pill burden, for instance.
Early on, I had a patient with Type 2 Diabetes say, “having diabetes is like having a full-time job,” which has resonated with me. It reminds me how overwhelming a person's health can be for them to manage.
Being outdoors in Vermont helps me recharge. Whether it is biking, hiking or being on the lake, I try to enjoy the outdoors all year long.
What I find most rewarding in my role is being able to help patients understand their health better.
