About Me
As a hematopathologist, I examine blood and lymphoid tissues under a microscope. My role involves diagnosing leukemia and lymphoma, along with other hematopoietic malignancies. A significant portion of our testing also provides insights into prognosis and therapeutic options.
Although I do not interact with patients directly, I communicate regularly with clinicians to provide them with essential information to guide patient care. Many cases are discussed in a tumor board setting, where the nuances of each case and potential treatment options are evaluated.
These discussions are crucial in ensuring the best care for every patient. Relationships built across departments foster a collegial environment that benefits all involved.
I am actively involved with the International Clinical Cytometry Society, where I serve on the council. I participate in the Quality & Standards Committee and the Education Committee, and I have previously been a member of the Women in Cytometry Committee. Additionally, I serve on the Diagnostic Immunology and Flow Cytometry Committee for the College of American Pathologists.
These roles allow me to network both nationally and internationally, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of issues affecting our field, ultimately providing the best testing for our patients.
