About Me
I’ve been a nurse-midwife at Porter Medical Center since 2008, and it’s been an honor to attend births here for nearly two decades. One of the greatest joys of this work is seeing families grow and being part of a community where I get to watch children I once welcomed into the world grow up.
I feel fortunate every day to work alongside the dedicated team at the Porter Birthing Center and at Porter Obstetrics, Midwifery and Gynecology. Together, we’re committed to collaborative, holistic and patient-centered care — listening closely to women’s preferences and supporting informed choices about their health.
Originally from Vermont, I spent 12 years out west before returning home. I studied Sociology and Women’s Studies at Colorado College, including a semester abroad in New Zealand, where I discovered my passion for women’s health. Before graduate school, I worked as a childbirth educator, doula and shelter manager for survivors of domestic violence, and even as a baker in Wyoming. I earned my master’s in nursing and midwifery at the University of California, San Francisco before returning to Vermont.
Now settled in Vergennes with my husband, two teenagers and our black lab, I’m grateful to be surrounded by extended family and the Vermont landscape I love. Outside of work, I enjoy running (slowly), gardening, cooking, skiing, travel, swimming in cold rivers and lakes and gathering with friends and family — on the porch in summer or by the woodstove in winter.
Together, we’re committed to collaborative, holistic and patient-centered care — listening closely to women’s preferences and supporting informed choices about their health.
