About Me
I work in outpatient therapy, where I care for patients with a wide range of needs, including orthopedic, neurological and lymphedema conditions. I value helping people move from struggling with everyday tasks to becoming independent in their daily routines. Lymphedema care is especially meaningful to me, as it is often under-recognized and many patients come to treatment after years without support. It’s incredibly rewarding to help people who may have nearly given up find relief and regain their quality of life.
Even after more than 30 years as an occupational therapist, this work continues to have a profound impact on me. I’ll always remember a patient with lymphedema who shared that they had stopped going outside because of the size of their legs. After treatment, their life changed in a meaningful way — that kind of transformation stays with you.
When I was in 10th grade, I dislocated my elbow and needed therapy to regain functional use of my dominant arm. That experience sparked my interest in rehabilitation. After high school, I spent four years in the United States Marine Corps, where I learned what I consider “real discipline.” When my service ended, I applied to occupational therapy school, prepared for the challenge of balancing family life with rigorous coursework.
Outside of my clinical work, I teach Pilates four days a week. It’s a great group of people, and the classes are energizing for everyone — myself included. I firmly believe that exercise helps you feel better in every way.
It’s incredibly rewarding to help people who may have nearly given up find relief and regain their quality of life.
