About Me
I developed an interest in medicine gradually, drawn to its blend of problem-solving, long-term relationships and the opportunity to support people during vulnerable moments. Over time, I found the greatest meaning in caring for critically ill patients and helping navigate complex, high-stakes decisions.
What I find most rewarding is supporting patients and families through some of the most difficult times in their lives. In pulmonary and critical care medicine, this may involve guiding end-of-life care that respects a patient’s values and autonomy, or helping someone recover from severe illness and leave the ICU. Being present, communicating clearly and helping people feel informed and supported during uncertainty is central to my work.
My clinical interests include the full spectrum of pulmonary and critical care medicine, such as severe respiratory failure, sepsis and complex critical illness. I am especially passionate about compassionate end-of-life care and shared decision-making that centers on each patient’s goals, values and preferences.
I emphasize clear communication and family-centered care, and I believe the best outcomes come from a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. Whether the goal is recovery or comfort, I strive to ensure patients and their families feel heard, informed and supported throughout the course of illness.
My intern year coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, providing early and sustained experience caring for critically ill patients during an exceptionally challenging time. Those experiences reinforced the importance of empathy, presence and communication, and continue to shape how I practice today. They taught me the value of slowing down when it matters most and recognizing that how we guide patients and families through uncertainty is just as important as the medical care we provide.
Being present, communicating clearly and helping people feel informed and supported during uncertainty is central to my work.
