About Me
As a neonatal nurse practitioner at University of Vermont Medical Center, I enjoy the multidisciplinary aspect of patient care and teaching new learners.
I have developed a particular interest in vitamin K deficiency bleeding (VKDB) and parental refusal of the vitamin K shot after birth. My focus in this area is centered on discussing concerns with families who are hesitant about giving vitamin K.
It is crucial for providers to educate families on the risks of refusal and the signs and symptoms of VKDB. Open and honest communication such as this is key to building strong relationships with our patients and their families.
I am a proud member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking.
