the volunteer board

Burlington, VT – University of Vermont Medical Center recently appointed two new members to its Board of Trustees, adding retired insurance executive Scott Boardman and veteran clinical leader and educator Donald Mathews, MD, to its 20-member volunteer board.

As the board welcomes Boardman and Dr. Mathews, Jesse Bridges, MPA, will continue to serve as board chair, with Alyson Richards continuing as vice chair and Meg H. O’Donnell, Esq. as secretary. Board member Tom Little retired from the board at the conclusion of the 2024 calendar year, after serving two, four-year terms.

“Our Board of Trustees plays an integral role in supporting the exceptional work of staff and leaders across UVM Medical Center,” said Bridges. “The skills and proven leadership of Scott Boardman and Dr. Mathews make them excellent additions to our group of committed and diverse professionals. I am pleased to welcome them to the Board and look forward to their contributions as we advance the crucial mission of UVM Medical Center.”

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Mathews and Mr. Boardman to the UVM Medical Center Board of Trustees,” said Stephen Leffler, MD, president and chief operating officer of UVM Medical Center. “Their perspectives, insight and diverse backgrounds will be invaluable assets as we continuously strive to deliver exceptional care and improve the health of communities throughout our region.”
