Health Care Career Fair Offers Area High School Students Glimpse of Options, Opportunities
October 7th event features representatives from University of Vermont Health, local schools
Plattsburgh, NY – On Tuesday, Oct. 7 local high school juniors and seniors will connect with health care professionals from the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Central Vermont Medical Center, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Home, Health and Hospice, Porter Medical Center, and University of Vermont Medical Center to learn more about the rewards and opportunities of a career in health care.
The 2nd Annual University of Vermont Talent Acquisition Health Care Career Fair will be held in SUNY Plattsburgh’s Warren Ballrooms, Angel College Center from 9 am to 2 pm.
A number of disciplines will be represented including:
- Nursing: Medical/surgical, emergency, intensive care, maternity, skilled/geriatric, surgical, resource and outpatient services.
- Pharmacy, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Cardiology and Rehabilitation Services (PT, OT, ST), IT, Patient Registration, Patient Accounting, Business Administration, Sterile Processing and Distribution, Security and Adult Home Health.
Educators from Vermont State Education, CVTEC, Clinton Community College, Plattsburgh State University and CVPH School of Radiology will also be on hand to share information.
This event is part of the organization’s broader effort to support a strong workforce by introducing students to the many rewarding and essential career opportunities in health care. By fostering robust career opportunities with programs like the career fair and the Workforce Development Center’s Career Pathway program, the health system ensures local partner hospitals can continue to deliver the care their communities need.
