Comedian, NPR Host Headlines Foundation of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital's 25th Girls Night Out
The Thursday, October 9 event promotes women’s wellness during national Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Plattsburgh, NY – Twenty-five years ago, a modest-sized group of women gathered in early October for an evening of inspiration, self-care and fun in the banquet room of a local restaurant. From the very beginning, The Foundation of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital's Girls Night Out used humor and the special bond between women to promote wellness, especially mammography screening, during national Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today, Girls Night Out is a local tradition where friends, coworkers, mothers and daughters gather to laugh a little and remind themselves that, “taking care of yourself never goes out of style.”

She thanked this year’s underwriters for their generosity: Della Auto Group, Dannemora Federal Credit Union, Northern Insurance Agency, Plattco, Donlan Wealth Management, Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union, and SymQuest.
Events and Special Project Manager Michelle Senecal was part of the team that organized the very first Girls Night Out in 2000. “Women who came to the earlier Girls Night Out events, come now with their daughters or even granddaughters. It really is a special event,” she said.
