Plattsburgh, NY – Families who have experienced the loss of a baby are invited to gather in remembrance, reflection and support during a Wave of Light Ceremony hosted by the Women and Children's Center (WCC), part of the University of Vermont Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH).

Held in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance month, the event takes place Wednesday, Oct. 15 in the CVPH Boardroom. It honors babies lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and infant death while providing families an opportunity to connect with others who share a similar journey.

The event starts at 6:30 pm and candles will be lit at 7 pm, joining families across the globe in creating a “wave” of light in remembrance and solidarity.

"This very special event encourages families who have suffered a loss to come together in support and share a moment of remembrance and healing. It provides an opportunity to lean on each other in the wake of one of the most challenging times in their lives: the loss of a baby. It can be an important part of the healing process," said Nancy Boucher, MSN, RNC, of the WCC.
