5K Pumpkin Run & Munchkin Mile Supports Workforce Development at Alice Hyde

Family-friendly tradition on September 27 supports healthy lifestyle

MALONE, NY -- University of Vermont Health Network– Alice Hyde Medical Center will host a fall-themed 5K, as well as a one-mile run/walk event meant for younger children, on Sat., Sept. 27 at the Malone Rec Park. The 5K Pumpkin Run & Munchkin Mile will celebrate fitness for all ages and abilities while supporting the hospital’s focus on workforce development in healthcare. There will be more than $2,000 in prizes for 5K participants.

“We are excited to host this fun, family-friendly tradition that encourages our community to be active and benefits our local healthcare workforce,” said Chantelle Marshall, director of Philanthropy for Alice Hyde. “Creating opportunities for individuals in our community who are considering a career in healthcare and supporting our people as they pursue their professional goals, are essential pieces of our path forward as a rural healthcare organization.”

The non-competitive event also features pumpkin decorating for kids and a bake sale.

Event Details 

  • Munchkin Mile (kids 10 and under) – 1-mile route within Rec Park. Begins at 10 am. Each participant receives a pumpkin bag and goodies.
  • 5K Pumpkin Run – Scenic trails around Rec Park. Begins at 10:30 am.  

All participants are eligible for prizes, including a season pass to Titus Mountain, cash and more. 

Registration fees are as follows: Adult registration is $25 and children, $15. Register is required and can be completed online at www.uvmhealth.org/PumpkinRun. Race-day registration (online or on-site) is $30 adults, $15 children; check–in opens at 9 am at Malone Rec Park.
