About Our Location
Breast Imaging at University of Vermont Health – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital offers a full range of breast imaging options. Mammography is an invaluable tool for the early detection of breast cancer. If you are a woman age 40 or older and in good health, the American Cancer Society recommends you have a mammogram every year. We are also the only facility offering Automated Breast Ultrasounds (ABUS) in the region – helping in the detection of malignancy in dense breast tissues.
At our location, we offer state-of-the-art 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), an X-ray technology that takes multiple images of your breast tissue for greater detail. It allows us to better distinguish between normal and abnormal tissue in your breast.
