This TalkVermont course builds on basic serious illness communication skills. It will focus on skills for dealing with multiple medical decision makers, conflicting goals of care, conversations around miracles, requests for medical aid and dying, and recommendations around time limited trials and withholding/withdrawing life sustaining treatments. This course is suitable for those interested in strategies for difficult family meetings. This course is recommended if you have taken a TalkVermont course or have some practice around serious illness communication.
*Recommended if you have completed a previous TalkVermont course or have some practice in serious illness conversations.*
