Support Group Details
This six-week, in-person group offers a safe and supportive space for those grieving the loss of a loved one. Grief affects everyone differently, and there is no single way to grieve. Through expressive arts, participants will explore emotions and memories using creative tools such as music, writing, storytelling, drawing/painting and collage.
This support group will meet every Tuesday from March 10 - April 14, from 5:30 - 7:15 p.m.
Participants will be invited to use the arts as a bridge between what is difficult to express in words and what needs to be felt, seen and honored. Each session includes guided activities and opportunities to share (if desired) in a non-judgmental and confidential setting. This group is not about skill, but about expressing, feeling and connecting with others in the community who are also grieving. No artistic or writing experience is necessary.
Groups are free of charge and open to all — no affiliation with Porter Medical Center is required. Advanced registration and a screening interview are required. Attendance at all sessions is expected.
