Bourgeois retired in January 2023 as president and chief executive officer of First Federal Credit Union after 33 years, including 20 as its leader. A graduate of Clinton Community College, she received its Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017. That same year, she was named the New York Credit Union Professional of the Year and honored by the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York as a Woman of Distinction. She emcees Assemblyman Billy Jones’ annual Women of Distinction Award Ceremony and serves as the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Board liaison for its foundation. Bourgeois sits on the hospital’s executive committee for the Stepping Out for Your Heart fundraiser, which promotes women’s heart health. She is chairperson of Mountain Lake PBS and remains active in community service. She lives by the credit union mantra “People Helping People” and strives to embody it daily.
