Dr. McCray is a family medicine physician at the University of Vermont Medical Center’s South Burlington clinic and a professor in the Clinical Scholar Pathway at the Larner College of Medicine. She is the interim chair for the UVM Health Department of Family Medicine. Previously, she was the program director for family medicine residency (2013-2021) and vice chair for academics in the Department of Family Medicine (2021-2023) at UVM Medical Center.
With medical training from Jefferson Medical College and a family medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Dr. McCray furthered her expertise with a research and faculty development fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Master of Science in clinical epidemiology. Her background also includes fellowships at the National Institute for Program Director Development (NIPPD) and the Association of Departments of Family Medicine (ADFM) Leadership Education for Academic Development (LEADS).
Dr. McCray’s research focuses on burnout and wellness in medicine, mental health in primary care, and home visit education for medical learners. Clinically, she specializes in family medicine with a clinical focus on geriatric care and home visit care.
