Jill Kaplan enjoyed a corporate career focused on technology sales and marketing. She began her career as an engineer for IBM in Essex Junction, but moved to the business side of the organization, where she developed strategy and scalable processes for generating revenue. She held several executive positions at Cisco Systems before retiring in 2017.
Kaplan now focuses her efforts on developing and investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs. She is on the executive committee of xElle Ventures, an early-stage fund for women founders. On behalf of xElle Ventures, she is a member of Triangle Angel Syndicate, which includes fund and network leaders shaping early stage investing in the Carolinas.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tufts University and a master’s in material science from University of Vermont. She divides her time between Burlington, Vermont, and Pittsboro, North Carolina.
