I am originally from Walla Walla, Washington. The home of the sweet onion and the Blue Mountains. My path to medical school followed years of volunteer experiences and a career as a Dental Hygienist. Upon the encouragement of my mentors, I returned to school fulltime to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a medical doctor. Later, I received my medical degree from the School of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.
In my search for a psychiatry residency position, I sought a program with: friendly hospital staff, supportive and enthusiastic attendings, quality didactic sessions, authentic residents, and a schedule that was conducive for both learning psychiatry and living life beyond the hospital walls. UVM, located 3,000 miles from my home, surpassed all expectations. It was the last place I interviewed and the first place that felt like home. I am thrilled to be a part of the UVM psychiatry residency program and the community of Burlington.
