Message from the Director

The Neuroradiology Fellowship at UVM Medical Center/University of Vermont College of Medicine offers a concentrated 1-year experience in all aspects of Neuroradiology. Emphasis is placed on CT and MR imaging of the central nervous system.

UVM Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center. The faculty includes 7 Neuroradiologists, including 5 CAQ and 2 Neurointerventionalists.

The Neuroradiology section performs more than 40,000 exams per year, including 17,000+ CT exams and 15,000+ MRI exams and the full spectrum of interventional spine and brain procedures.

Due to our luminary agreements, we are proud to have state-of-the art imaging equipment, voice recognition and PACS.

There are many opportunities for research due to a dedicated 3T MRI within the department of Radiology as well as our broad range of pathology, case volume and collaborative relationships with:

  • Neurology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Otolaryngology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopedics
  • Pediatrics
  • Psychiatry

Fellows are expected to take on progressive responsibility with regard to the day to day function of the neuroradiology section as well as, acting as the point person for minor diagnostic procedures such as lumbar punctures and myelograms. Additional experience with diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology procedures is also gained through exposure on the Neurointerventional service.
