Hospital Medicine Pathway

As a burgeoning career interest among many internal medicine resident physicians, our Internal Medicine Residency Program (IMRP) offers a 2-year track for categorical IM residents who are drawn to a career in Hospital Medicine. Our goal is to provide exemplary training in areas unique to inpatient clinical work and academic achievement so that resident physicians can seamlessly advance from post-graduate training to innovative, productive, and diversified professional careers.

Our curriculum offers additional experience and education in both clinical and non-clinical domains with a focus on clinical skill, patient safety and quality improvement, medical education, health system design and care delivery, healthcare economics, institutional and research stewardship, and personalized mentorship. Those interested in participating in the Hospital Medicine Track will apply during their first year of training, with candidates competitively selected to curate a cohesive cohort of enthusiastic learners to best accommodate individual career interests and development.
