Meet Bill Majdalany, MD. He is the division chief for interventional radiology and Vice Chair of research for Radiology. Dr. Majdalany's clinical and research focus is on interventional radiology and focusing in on the tools and techniques of the future for interventional radiology. Clinical interests include understanding the interplay of lymphatics in pathophysiology and advancing lymphatic intervention. Additional interests include complex venous occlusions, IVC filters, and post procedure medical management; locoregional cancer therapy (TACE/Y90/ablative therapies), and hepatobiliary/portal/transplant interventions
Eline van den Broek-Altenburg, PhD
Meet Eline van den Broek-Altenburg, Ph.D. who is the Vice Chair for Health services research in Radiology. Eline is trained as a Health Services Researcher (cognates in Biostatistics and Health Economics) and has a decade and a half of experience in health policy and healthcare decision-making. In Vermont, she is specifically interested in value-based healthcare from the patient perspective and the effects of VB policy reforms on healthcare expenditures and changes in clinical practice, especially in Radiology. At UVM, she has started up and engaged in several population health projects with multidisciplinary teams delineating the right metrics to improve hospital and patient outcomes. Her research ranges from estimating the economic effects of healthcare interventions and programs; analyzing patient preference heterogeneity using advanced choice models; and applying machine learning techniques to analyze clinical text data. She has also made contributions in further developing standardized quantitative measures to compare (national and international) health systems and assess health system performance.
