The UVM Medical Center provides a top-notch academic “home” for our training program, providing you with outstanding teaching and access to incredible research opportunities. This tertiary referral Level 1 Trauma center serves Vermont and northeastern New York, and, as the front door, our ED provides exposure to very high acuity and complexity.
Training Across the Entire Resource Spectrum
Here at UVM, through our wilderness medicine and global health opportunities, you will develop the skills and confidence to provide care in austere, resource-limited environments. You will become comfortable with point-of-care ultrasound, regional anesthesia, and many other bedside diagnostic and treatment modalities. Our rural and community EM experiences will teach you to practice independent of consultants, and make rapid decisions, including when transfer is indicated. These experiences will truly prepare you to work in any setting.
