How to apply:
Residency applications for the University of Vermont Pathology Residency Program at UVM Medical Center are submitted via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The Pathology Residency Program at UVM Medical Center participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) Pathology Residency Program has committed to a holistic recruitment process, which includes uniting with other pathology residency programs to participate in a National Interview Offer schedule. This initiative is to allow programs sufficient time to perform a holistic review of ERAS applications, as well as reduce applicant stress in the application process. This means that we along with other programs have committed to not offering interviews to applicants prior to October 18, 2024, for the 2025 NRMP match.
Schedule:
- September 4: Applicants may begin submitting MyERAS® applications to programs.
- September 25: Programs may begin reviewing MyERAS® applications and MSPEs
- September 25-October 17: Application Review (only applications submitted through MyERAS®)
- October 18: Interview Invitations will be sent to applicants via email from Thalamus (interview scheduling platform).
Materials required from all applicants:
- Application
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement
- Dean's Letter
- Transcripts
- A minimum of three (3) recent letters of reference from direct supervisors
- USMLE and COMPLEX transcripts
International applicants must:
- Have a J-1 Visa or have a U.S. citizen Permanent Resident status. No other Visas will be accepted. (H1B are not acceptable.)
- Have graduated from medical school within the last two years
- Have a current certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
- Successfully completed the Clinical Skills requirement
- Have worked in clinical medicine in the United States within the last two years
- NOTE: an observership does not fulfill this requirement
