Application Process - GPR

Effective in 2026, GPR programs are moving to Phase I of the match per NatMatch.com. Match results will be released in November. This means that programs and candidates will be interviewing a little earlier in the fall.

Residency applications for the University of Vermont GPR program at the UVM Medical Center are submitted via American Dental Education Association Postdoctoral Application Support Service (ADEA PASS). Your application and supporting documentation should be received in PASS by September 1 if not sooner. We will continue to accept applications throughout September and early October but to get the optimal interview opportunities we recommend submitting your materials by 9/1.

Our Dental Residency Program participates in the postdoctoral dental matching program administered by National Matching Services Inc.

Our committee will review applications and email a select number of candidates an offer to interview via Interview Broker.

Requirements to Apply

  • Passed the INBDE exam, or applicants must indicate their intended INBDE exam date, if not already taken, at the time of application. Applicants accepted to the program must provide official passing INBDE score by March 1st prior to matriculation into the program.
  • Current student or graduate of an U.S. or Canadian dental school
  • Include your match code (from National Matching Services Inc.) in your PASS application

Interviews

We will be conducting hybrid interviews in the fall of 2026 – four dates spread out over Fridays in September and October. We are offering the option of in-person or virtual interviews.

Our interview day will include a program overview with the program director. Applicants will interview with the PD and 4-6 faculty and staff members. Applicants will have plenty of opportunity to talk with current residents to learn more about our program.
