Meet Our Fellows

Third Year Fellow

Lindsey Alpeter, MD

I am the second year fellow in our REI program, having joined our team in 2024. After earning both my medical degree and undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, I completed my residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Since moving to Vermont, I have found that I love the vibrant community and natural beauty of the Green Mountain State and I couldn't think of a better place to pursue my passion for helping patients build their families.

Second Year Fellow

Andrew Claffey, MD

Hello! I'm originally from Rochester, NY, and after completing both my undergraduate and medical education in the Rust Belt, I moved to Dallas, TX to train at Parkland/UTSW. During college and medical school, I developed a strong passion for global health and spent a summer in Malawi working with local preschools and women's groups to launch microbusinesses and address high rates of childhood malnutrition in their communities. My interest in REI began in medical school, where I saw firsthand the profound impact physicians can have in helping patients build families. Within REI, I'm particularly interested in reproductive surgery and the role that lifestyle and environmental factors play in fertility. Outside of medicine, my wife (a proud Philly native) and I are devoted members of Bills Mafia. I have a background as an opera singer, we have a goldendoodle named Tex, I've visited over 20 national parks, and I love to cook.

First Year Fellow

Jonathan Konel, MD

Hi everyone! I'm Jon, originally from Nutley, NJ, a small town just outside of NYC. I moved to Baltimore, MD to complete my undergraduate and master's degrees at Johns Hopkins, where I was first introduced to reproductive medicine. During my master's program, I developed a strong interest in REI and wrote my thesis on male infertility in prepubescent cancer patients. I then attended medical school at Wayne State in Detroit, MI, and completed my residency at the University of Maryland, with the goal of pursuing REI. I was drawn to the REI program at UVM for its strong foundation in reproductive surgery, commitment to academic excellence in both endocrinology and infertility, and the genuinely welcoming environment I experienced on interview day. I am especially excited to continue exploring my research interests in LGBTQ+ family building and disparities in access to fertility care. The opportunity to train in a close-knit academic setting while enjoying the outdoors in Burlington made UVM an ideal fit. Outside of medicine, I love running and singing" sometimes at the same time. You can usually find me training for my next half marathon, with the goal of completing one in every state. I also enjoy Peloton workouts (especially with Cody Rigsby), cooking plantains, and binge-watching the latest hit TV series.
