How to Apply

Fellowship applications can be submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The Hospice & Palliative Care Medicine Fellowship at the University of Vermont Medical Center participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)

The following materials are required from applicants:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • Dean’s Letter
  • Transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation are required; one of which should be from the applicant's department head, program director, or division chief.
  • A J-1 Visa or U.S. citizen Permanent Resident status. No other Visas will be accepted. (H1B are not acceptable.)

Timeline

July 15, 2026: Programs are able to review submitted applications

Week of August 3rd, 2026: First invites for formal interviews are sent

August 10, 2026 by 8pm EST: Application deadline for our program

September-October: Interviews (via Zoom)

November 18, 2026: Final rank list is due in NRMP (we recommend finalizing your rank list several days to weeks prior to this deadline)
