Priority is given to applicants related to a graduate of the Mary Fletcher Hospital School of Nursing.

Riley W. Olson Critical Care Nurse Education Fund:
Awarded annually to a Critical Care registered nurse (MICU or SICU) demonstrating excellence in clinical practice and commitment to the care of patients and their families. The purpose of the fund is to facilitate the ongoing education and professional development of the recipient, from an advanced degree to certification or specialty training.

Ellen Seuss Evans Oncology Nurse Education Fund:
The Ellen Seuss Evans Oncology Nurse Education Fund will be awarded annually to a nurse demonstrating excellence in clinical care and commitment to the care of oncology patients. The purpose of the fund is to facilitate the ongoing educational and professional development needs of the recipient.

Presented to a Registered Nurse demonstrating excellence in Nursing.
James Calame, RN, Cardiology/Electrophysiology
James has proven his excellence in nursing practice in numerous ways, such as his participation in multiple research studies which have altered the practice of Electrophysiology and helped guide the most effective, evidence-based practice.
Sally Sample Award for Nurse Managers:
Presented to a Nurse Manager who demonstrates leadership in advancing the quality of patient care.
Rachel Bouvier, RN, Resource
Rachel has contributed to continuous improvement at the organization by spearheading work to re-launch an LNA Shared Responsibility process to reduce the amount of constant observation assignments to LNAs so they could better maintain their skillset.
LPN Excellence in Clinical Practice:
Presented to a Licensed Practical Nurse demonstrating excellence in their clinical practice.
Lisa Maple, LPN, Adult Primary Care
Lisa is an integral member of the Adult Primary Care Adult Primary Care team, having served as wound and nail care expert, State of Vermont vaccine coordinator, POCT super user and trainer, and more. Lisa is a supportive colleague, diligent worker and a compassionate caregiver.
LNA Excellence in Clinical Practice:
Presented to a Licensed Nursing Assistant demonstrating excellence in their clinical practice.
Jen Grandfield, LNA, Inpatient Psychiatry
Jen has proven herself to be an invaluable member of the Inpatient Psychiatry team, spending over 600 hours in 2021 training newly hired MHTs and LNAs and participating in the unit Operations Committee and Safety Committee, as well as being a member of the NPG LNA Council.
Kate FitzPatrick Leadership in Nursing Professional Governance Award:
Presented to an exceptional nurse who has served on an NPG council and spends the majority of their time providing direct patient care.
Crystal Krull, BSN, RN-BC – RN III, Resource
Crystal serves as the chair of the NPG Communications Global Council and chair of the Resource Unit Based Council. Outside of her work in NPG, Crystal is a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Resource Float that supports twelve different units.

The Joan Webber Jones award for Nurse Educators acknowledges a nurse educator who demonstrates leadership in advancing the quality of nursing education or patient education
Michelle Gorman, MSN, RN, NPD-BC – Nurse Educator, Miller 4
Michelle has contributed to Miller 4 and the organization as a whole in ways such as working with the UVM simulation lab to bring simulation into the progressive care internship, developing a telemetry review course in Cornerstone available to all employees, and through her work on the Board of Directors of the Vermont Cardiology Network.
