Message from the Director

Welcome to the University of Vermont and UVM Medical Center medical residency site. The goal of our OB-GYN residency program is to train individuals in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, mentoring them to achieve their individual goals.

Our residency program has been continuously accredited since its establishment in 1947, and following a recent site visit received another four-year accreditation through May 2017. Our recent graduates have succeeded in both academic fellowships and private practice settings. We strive for a balance of educational and clinical experience within obstetrics and gynecology.

This OB-GYN residency program is unique in its presence of all subspecialties within the same institution. Residents are trained by generalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, reproductive endocrinologists, gynecologic oncologists, and urogynecologists. All faculty members are very clinically active and work one-on-one with the residents during the rotation. As a result, close mentoring relationships enhance the educational experience.

The setting in Burlington, Vermont is an added bonus. Considered one of the most desirable communities in which to live, it has been voted one of the best areas for women's health care in the country. It has been rated as one of the best areas in which to raise a family for many years.

Thank you for your interest. We encourage all applicants interested in a well-rounded education in a beautiful place to live. Life is short- enjoy everything you do.
