What is two-step verification?

This opt-in security feature, also called two-factor authentication, helps make sure the person logging into your MyChart account is you.

After you turn on two-step verification, you’ll receive a unique verification code by email each time you log into MyChart. You’ll use this code to verify your identity. Even if someone has your MyChart password, they cannot get into your account without this verification code.

How does two-step verification work?

First, make sure you’ve turned on two-step verification for your MyChart account. Then:

  1. Log into your MyChart account.
  2. Check your email. We’ll send a verification code to the email address you have connected to your MyChart account.
  3. Copy and paste the verification code into your MyChart log in screen, then proceed into your MyChart account.

After entering the code, you may click “Skip this step next time” if you wish to avoid this process on that device or browser in the future. This is only recommended for devices you own and don’t share with others.
