Advancing Skills in Goals of Care Conversations
TalkVermont’s Advancing Skills in Goals of Care Conversations is a two-day course that focuses on advancing skills for serious illness conversations. Through deliberate practice and working with multiple simulated patients at a time, participants will navigate family conflict, elicit goals from multiple perspectives, and overcome common challenges in serious illness conversations. This course will also cover how to respond to request to hasten death, miracles, and making recommendations about withholding/withdrawing life-sustaining treatments. This course is recommended for those that participate in goals of care conversations daily and for those that have taken a prior TalkVermont course.
