Art from the Heart: Assist with art sessions for pediatric and adult patients, families and caregivers.
Cardiac Rehab: Provide support for patients facing cardiac surgery and/or during their post-op rehabilitation period.
Emergency Department Waiting Room: Serve as a liaison between staff, family and patients.
FAVORS Program: Provide a wide range of personalized services to patients.
Falls Prevention: Work with a multidisciplinary team to decrease the incidence of patient falls in the hospital.
Footnoters: Provide foot care to the elderly or provide clerical assistance to register clinic participants.
Gift Shop: Assist customers, manage sales, stock items and maintain an orderly atmosphere in a busy retail environment.
Guides: Assist patients to and from the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) Lobby for appointments and procedures.
Hematology/Oncology Support: Assist cancer patients in the waiting area and the chemotherapy infusion bay.
Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP): Provide support, companionship and information for patients.
Information Desk: Greet the public, answer the phone and direct patients and visitors to appropriate areas. Need computer skills to locate patients and outpatient appointment sites.
Infection Management: Assist with data collection and entry regarding hand washing.
Mascot: Appear as our Vermont Children’s Hospital mascot, Monty the Moose, at special functions and events.
NODA: No One Dies Alone volunteers work with the Palliative Care department to provide companionship to dying patients who might otherwise be alone.
Patient Relations Ambassador: Assist Patient and Family Advocacy by visiting new patients and providing information to meet their needs.
Pediatrics: Participate in Child Life play program by involving pediatric patients in play activities. Training provided by Child Life Specialists.
Replays-Quality Resale Shop: Assist with retail sales, operate cash register and sort donations. Profits support patient services via the Fletcher Allen Auxiliary. Located on Dorset Street in South Burlington.
Ronald McDonald Family Room: Greet and explain Family Room services to parents of pediatric patients in the Ronald McDonald Family Room. Located on the pediatric unit of the hospital.
Sewing/Knitting at Home: Various sewing projects to be done at home for our Pediatric, Emergency Department, Palliative Care and Breast Care Center.
Spiritual Care: Volunteers provide various services to meet the spiritual needs of our patients.
Intensive Care Unit Liaison: Assist staff by supporting families of patients who are in the surgical and medical waiting areas. Act as a liaison between families and staff.
Taylor Hospitality Room: Welcome families to the Taylor Family Hospitality Room for respite, comfort and support. Room offers coffee, snacks, a computer, flat-screen TV, recliners and shower facilities.
