Learn About Faculty Physician Careers at The University of Vermont Health Network

Welcome to a one-of-a-kind academic health care network, where The University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group is building an integrated system of providers and care delivery to provide high-value health care in the small cities and rural regions of Vermont and Northern New York.

This work offers exciting new opportunities to enhance our academic mission, providing benefits to our patients, providers and communities. Committed to providing patient- and family-centered care, we constantly focus on improving quality and patient outcomes while supporting our physicians as we all adapt to the rapidly changing world of health care.

Clinical Excellence

The UVM Health Network Medical Group provides physicians with the opportunity to practice in a wide variety of service areas, with state-of-the-art tools to support high-quality patient care. Our practice extends beyond our network through our other affiliations and partnerships.

Academic Excellence

Through the Medical Center’s physical connection to the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, our faculty physicians practice in a collaborative care environment informed by teaching and leading-edge research. Here, you have access to a wealth of regional data to support meaningful research projects and the ability to pursue your own research and education interests alongside a talented cadre of physician and scientist colleagues.

Healthcare Innovation Collaboratory (hiCOlab)

The UVM Health Network Medical Group Innovation Center’s hiCOlab collaborates with patients, providers, staff and community members to improve the emotional, spiritual and physical experience for patients and employees throughout the UVM Medical Center and UVM Health Network. Using human-centered design, the hiCOlab team learns about patients’ and caregivers’ unique health care experiences, then identifies and quickly tests ways to improve that experience.

When you're not at work, Vermont and New York offer a culturally rich, active, family-friendly environment in an area of unparalleled beauty and almost unlimited opportunities to sample outstanding food, music, arts and outdoor adventures. As a physician, you get to live in a community that truly appreciates the care you provide.
