UVM Health Network Medical Group

What happens when talented physicians work together as teachers, clinicians and researchers? Academic health care that's both inspired and personal. With access to state-of-the-art technology, our physicians provide multidisciplinary care while teaching and training the next generation of health care professionals.

The University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group includes both faculty physicians, who practice at hospitals and clinics across the UVM Health Network, and community physicians, who care for patients throughout Central and Western Vermont and Northern New York.

The UVM Health Network Medical Group fosters collaboration and creates an environment where clinical and teaching excellence and research-based expertise are championed and put into practice daily.

The hundreds of physician members of The UVM Health Network Medical Group are not only improving the lives of patients in our own back yard and across the region, but their dedication to knowledge and discovery is advancing the field of medicine.

Patient Care

The UVM Medical Center has received national recognition for our efforts to continuously improve the quality of care we provide. We have ranked in the top 25 percent of 107 participating medical centers in quality and patient safety for seven years running by Vizient, Inc. The commitment of our physician group to excellent patient care is a leading factor in this success.

Research and Education

The Robert Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont graduates over 100 physicians and 20 biomedical PhDs every year. Our faculty physicians teach and mentor medical students and more advanced learners, including residents and fellows. These students develop skills that will make them better caregivers and position them to serve as leaders.

UVM Health Network Medical Group members are constantly striving to find answers that will advance the field of medicine and share what they've learned with colleagues. UVM Medical Center and College of Medicine continue to recruit top research talent, increasing the already high level of expertise we offer to patients and colleagues.

Constant learning is a way of life for members of the UVM Health Network Medical Group. As teachers and researchers, they stay abreast of the latest developments in their fields and bring that knowledge to their students and patients. Our primary care medical education program continues to rank as one of the very best in the country.
