Dining & Nutrition Services

When you come to the hospital, you might not expect to be able to order up fresh, organic and local food when you want it, and have it delivered by room service. At The University of Vermont Medical Center food matters—to us, to the health of our patients, and our community.

Healthy and local!

We were one of the first hospitals in the country to sign the Healthy Food in Health Care Pledge - a commitment to serve local, nutritious and sustainable food.

We support many local products such as maple syrup, cheese, organic milk, and a variety of local organic vegetables - supporting local companies and their products everyday. And others have noticed! Read about our healthy food awards.

Our efforts ensure that The UVM Medical Center is providing food that is both nutritious, and is produced in a way that's good for our environment and community.

View a WCAX video feature, entitled, "The UVM Medical Center goes localvore", to learn about The UVM Medical Center nutrition services at the Medical Center Campus, where the food is local, healthy or sustainable, and is cooked to order for our in-hospital patients right off our menu.

Vermont Fresh
