Those who participate in professional nursing organizations have the ability to impact nursing practice at the University of Vermont Medical Center, throughout Vermont and nationwide. Professional Nursing organizations use the experiences and voices of practicing nurses to drive policy and reshape how healthcare is delivered.

In a small state like Vermont, we have the ability to profoundly impact nursing practice. An example of this being, A few years ago Vermont had the largest increase in the number of certified Emergency Department nurses in the country because of an initiative led by the Vermont Emergency Nurse Association and its UVM Medical Center members.
