Elizabethtown, NY — Johnnie Wren, MD, recently joined the University of Vermont Health Network - Elizabethtown Community Hospital to provide family medicine care. Dr. Wren will see patients at the Au Sable Forks Health Center, one of the hospital’s six community-based health centers in Essex County.

“Dr. Wren is a wonderful addition to our health center team and shares our passion for improving the lives of our patients and their families,” said Rob DeMuro, MD, medical director for primary care at Elizabethtown Community Hospital

“Connecting with patients and supporting the health of a small community are some of the things that drew me to rural family medicine,” said Dr. Wren. “It is a privilege to be able to positively impact the lives of patients and their families and one I take very seriously. I’m excited to join the Elizabethtown Community Hospital team and serve our community.”

During her training in the University of Vermont Health Network’s Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Wren says it became clear that she wanted to stay in Northern New York. The welcoming atmosphere and camaraderie among staff at Elizabethtown Community Hospital health centers helped her decide where. “When I met the staff at Elizabethtown Community Hospital, I knew I had found the right place,” said Dr. Wren.

Dr. Wren earned her undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University and attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at the UVM Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.

The Au Sable Forks Health Center, located at 15 Pleasant Street in Au Sable Forks, New York, is open Monday through Friday. Dr. Wren is accepting new patients. To make an appointment, please call (518) 647-8164 or visit ECH.org.
