Central Vermont Medical Center Hires New Woodridge Administrator

CVMC announced the hire of a new Woodridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Administrator and VP of Aging Services, William (Bill) Kowalewski, following an extensive national search.

Berlin, Vt. – March 22, 2021 – Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) today announced the hire of a new Woodridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Administrator and VP of Aging Services, William (Bill) Kowalewski following an extensive national search.

Kowalewski brings 19 years of experience in senior administrative roles in rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Southington Care Center (SCC), an $18 million 130-bed nonprofit rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility in Southington, Connecticut.

“We’re thrilled to have Bill join our team,” said CVMC President and COO, Anna Tempesta Noonan. “His experience leading high performing long term care and rehabilitation facilitates will serve our residents and community well.”

Under Kowalewski’s leadership, SCC added centers of excellence in dementia, stroke, CHF, and palliative care. The organization also saw increased financial stability and the successful implementation of Hartford Healthcare System processes and procedures SCC after the two organizations merged five years ago.

Kowalewski holds a Master of Public Administration Health Policy and Management from New York University and a BS in Mathematics and serves as faculty at Hofstra, St. John’s, and Western Connecticut State universities, and as a preceptor for New York University. He has sat on several boards including serving as Treasurer of the national American Lung Association, President of the New York Lung Association, and board member of the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut.
