This is a bargaining union position.
External RNs with at least 2 years of experience are eligible for up to a $20,000 Sign on bonus (prorated for part time roles). The bonus will be paid out as a $10,000.00 gross pay adjustment in the first pay check and the remaining $10,000.00 will be paid upon completion of two years of satisfactory service.
As a nurse on this OR unit, you'll have the ability to work within our 9 different service lines, including ENT/Dental, Plastics, General, GYN, GU, daVinci Robotics, CVT, Ortho, and Neuro. We have 21 operating rooms, 3 of which are currently in use for outpatient surgery such as carpal tunnel. All of our OR nurses circulate and scrub, so you'll be a member of a strong team that supports one another and the patient while in surgery.
All of our nurses are encouraged to grow professionally through certifications and have the opportunity to advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge. May take charge as operational need allows.
State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.
Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
