Job Description

Consider joining our 9 station inpatient acute dialysis/apheresis unit in beautiful Burlington, VT if you want to work with a great team of supportive professionals who value teamwork, safety, quality and good coffee. We offer a comprehensive and personalized orientation program. After mastering the basics, you will learn to perform renal replacement therapies in the ICU setting, join the on-call rotation and become proficient in apheresis therapies, peritoneal dialysis and pediatric renal replacement therapies. A willingness to be flexible with an ever changing census is a must. Ideally you will have had inpatient nursing experience. Patient to nurse ratio is 1:1 or 2:1 assignment. No parking is available at the main campus location but packing is off site with free shuttle service. On-call parking is available on site. Currently offering $6k - $20k sign on bonus depending on experience!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care.  The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge.  May take charge as operational need allows.

EDUCATION:

State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.

EXPERIENCE:

Appropriate experience in specific clinical area.  Varies by unit.

Greater than one year of experience.
