This is a bargaining union position.
External RNs with at least 1 year of experience are eligible for up to a $10,000 Sign on bonus (prorated for part time roles). The bonus will be paid out as a $5,000.00 gross pay adjustment in the first pay check and the remaining $5,000.00 will be paid upon completion of one year of satisfactory service.
As a Cardiology Nurse in our 32-bed progressive-care CCU, you will be responsible for treating a diverse patient population with a variety of heart-related conditions. We are a Level I Tertiary care hospital, providing care with state of the art technology. You will be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to patient & family-centered care. Our Cardiology RNs provide care for patients with structural heart problems, coronary stents, arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, ST-Elevation MI’s and non-ST-Elevation MI’s.
We also support the professional development of our nurses, providing opportunities for education through conferences and PCCN certifications. Our nurses also have the opportunity to advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge. May take charge as operational need allows.
State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.
Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
