Job Description

External RNs with at least 1 year of experience are eligible for up to a $10,000 Sign on bonus (prorated for part time roles). The bonus will be paid out as a $5,000.00 gross pay adjustment in the first pay check and the remaining $5,000.00 will be paid upon completion of one year of satisfactory service.

As an RN in our department, you will care for a mixed population of patients across the UVM Medical Center. Our team is comprised of experienced RNs who float between different units as the census and staffing needs arise. As a department we support 20 different units ranging from Medical-Surgical, Cardiology/Telemetry, and Critical Care to Maternal Child units. You will be hired into the skill set that best matches your experience and knowledge base. You’ll find yourself using your broad range of skills and depth of experience on a variety of patients and find the flexibility and variety exciting. Where you are working can change shift to shift and within your shift.

You’ll work in collaboration with a mix of RNs, LNAs, Unit Secretaries, Nursing students, Case Managers, Quality partners, Medical Students, Residents and Attendings to provide patients with the highest quality care. Our leadership team provides training and support to ensure you have the tools and knowledge you need to thrive in this one-of-a-kind unit. There are always opportunities to broaden your nursing skill set in this department. A can-do attitude, flexibility, a love of change, independence, and excellent communication skills are needed to be successful in our department.

We like to celebrate our team’s successes and actively support staff professional development and getting involved above and beyond the bedside role. We would love to have you join our dynamic and fun team of registered nurses and licensed nurse assistants. Nurses are encouraged to grow professionally through certifications. Our nurses also have the opportunity to advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
